Critic Review

Maxim Theatre Stockholm

"The real discovery of the night is American comedian Yasmin Elhady. Her appearance in a hijab, a pink glamour dress, and glitter pumps is like a board member stumbling through a wardrobe and ending up at the wrong event. Perhaps her background as a lawyer and divorced mother of two is the secret behind her rich material. Of Libyan-Egyptian heritage, with an Afghan co-parent to  her children, whom she refers as "halfghan." Her technique and delivery are exceptional. She manages to be blasé, superior, self-deprecating, and crookedly sarcastic—all at once, about everything. If this had been a full evening with just her on stage, it would have been the comedy highlight of the year."
